What the redditor’s girlfriend uncovered was shocking. As it turns out, one of their neighbors and his business partner were renting out 4 apartments next door. One of the apartments was a handicap-accessible unit.

They started an investigation into the matter. The result? The ‘entrepreneur’ was left paying rent on four units without the income from short-term Airbnb stayers to offset his losses. He was forced to vacate the building.

As an airbnb host, two of us spend 3-4 hours to clean (and do repairs) between guests. It's a one time cost. Now, I will have to increase the nightly rate. Interesting Europe Airbnb have little or no cleaning fees attached to their rentals. We know owners who charge big bucks in BC and clean their own place in 20 minutes. Shameful and greedy.
