In a surprise shakeup for outerwear, Canada Goose announced the appointment of its first ever creative director this week as part of the brand’s new chapter that will be guided by vision, purpose and an elevated aesthetic.
“With his distinct ability to harness the energy and potential of our authentic heritage, I look forward to seeing his impact across our designs,” says Reiss in a recent press release.Ackermann’s first seasonal capsule collection will launch in Fall/Winter 2024 but to mark the auspicious appointment, Canada Goose also announced a limited edition sweatshirt launch that will support, a non profit at the forefront of research and conservation advocacy.
Though Ackermann is no stranger to activism through design, his partnership with Chalamet involved designing a hoodie with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to Afghanistan Libre, a French organization that works to preserve the rights of women in Afghanistan, he says that his trip to Churchill, Manitoba is what lit a fire under him for this cause.
