PORT AU PORT, N.L. — The most vocal critics of the World Energy GH2 Port au Port Peninsula wind turbine green hydrogen project contend that Newfoundland and Labrador's conditions for the project to proceed don’t go far enough.
After a 22-month process, Environment and Climate Change Minister Bernard Davis released the company’s Project Nujio’qonik from further environmental assessment. The group maintains that the distance of the turbines is still too close to dwellings and maximizing the number imposes “inhumane and unethical conditions on the residents of the peninsula all for the purpose of profit.”
