It's like a cost of living adjustment which than converts to taxes. I guess its better than a kick in the arse wit a frozen mukluk.
Regardless of how this is implemented it is being paid for by EVERYONE! Taxes will increase because now they are giving the business money to pay you more. Honest to God! FureyAndrew does ANY of you have an OUNCE of common CENTS? GeorgeFureyNL your son is not good at math!
As long as it has to be paid back.
Newfoundlanders need a living wage, get them out of poverty once and for all .
Or, just let the businesses that can't keep up to simply fade away. No idea how small business owners stay a float anyways. I don't even buy in NL when I can get the item online for less than half the price. Just lookin' out for 1

Higher wages means higher taxes, this incentive is only a temporary fix, small businesses or what's left of them soon won't be able to keep up. In order to stay afloat they'll either have to lay off staff or cut hours back.
Isn’t that just robbing Peter to pay Paul?

Minimum wage should match Ontario $15.50 or even higher!! No single person can survive on that.
On October 1 , 2023 someone is getting laid off
Another wonderful idea 💡. This Liberal government are impressive everyday. Not!
Does it take into account what the owners profit will be? Because tax payers should not have to pay to keep the owners bank account full. Can't afford your business close it...
“Pay the employers 80% up front.” Time to build a new gaol. Lol.
Round about way to say too high minimum wage kills small business.
Some employers will abuse this.. take the money and still raise their prices.
lol
