Lawyers for Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein's former girlfriend, who faces charges of recruiting, grooming and abusing minor girls as young as 14-years-old, asked the judge to transfer her out of a high-security cell in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, to allow her to better prepare for her defense.
The judge also rejected Maxwell's earlier request to modify prison surveillance, which she claimed involved being secretly watched by prison psychologists for several hours every day. Maxwell, 58, was arrested on July 2 and charged with recruiting, grooming and ultimately abusing three alleged victims. Maxwell pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been detained until her trial, which is set for July 2021.

Should I be worried about my uncle if his request for a medically assisted death is denied?Canadian law doesn’t preclude people with serious mental illnesses – including manic depression or bipolar disorder – from seeking medical assistance in dying, known as MAID for short Fight for him to get it! Having time to worry to the pt of writing a letter to the ed. that your uncle won’t be able to find a doctor to off him (seems like a poor use of frontline hero time in a pandemic, I digress) is the definition of privilege. I wonder, is he rich and childless? More inclusion criteria for MAID is much needed. While it is a slippery slope including mental illness, we cannot ignore those who feel they are truly suffering with no hope. I don’t agree that it should be allowed for everyone, but reviewed on a case by case basis. ❤️
