The eyes of the world will be on the German Bundesliga this weekend as it becomes the first major European soccer league to return amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The country has 174,098 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 7,861 deaths, according to the latest figures, but Germany's Football Association has worked closely with league organizers and hope strict safety protocols will protect those involved when matches are played. If the measures work, it could provide a template for other sports to get back underway. If they don't, then questions will be asked as to why football returned so soon.

Only 98 people will be allowed around the pitch itself with a further 115 in the stands and 109 more outside of that . Everyone must practice social distancing, and players should alternate their time spent in the dressing room, while keeping 1.5 meters apart and continuing to wear a face mask. Players will be tested at least twice a week throughout the season, needing a negative result before traveling to the stadium to play.

Colby Cosh: French study dashes hopes that COVID-19 prevalence is more widespread than previously thoughtSome people have been holding out hope that SARS-CoV-2 is more widespread than limited testing can show, and that infection-fatality ratios might actually be near the range of ordinary seasonal flu… The Institut Pasteur released a study saying Hydroxychloroquine was the most effective treatment for the virus & the msm disagreed. Now Institut Pasteur releases a study saying the virus is not more widespread than we thought & the msm agrees. Are they credible or not? Ill take the findings of the researchers at Stanford over the findings of this French Institute any day of the week. colbycosh Could you clarify this: When you say '3.6 per cent of infected individuals will end up hospitalized. Of those, 19 per cent will enter an intensive care unit and 18 per cent will die,' do you mean 18% of total hospialized, or 18% of those in intensive care? 1/2
