Roads around Avebury Avenue were shut as crews responded to reports of a gas leak.
According to Lauren Lea, corporate communications advisor for FortisBC, the damage was to a service line from a third party. Crews are now working to repair the lines, and there are about 45 outages. Once the repairs are complete, crews will go to reignite the appliances.The fire department and VicPD were also on scene assisting and briefly had roads, including Bay Street, closed.
