After a stupidly short homestand, the Blue Jays hit the road again to open up the second quarter of the season in Baltimore where they’ll find the first place Orioles. The first of three games gets underway this evening, with a little bit earlier start time of 6:35 ET. José Berríos heads to the mound, looking to bounce back from his worst outing of the year a week ago. Last Tuesday in Philadelphia, Berríos allowed 8 runs over 3.
The shortfall here, if there is one, is that 17 of his 21 hits have been singles, as he hasn’t been getting many balls in the air. But the consistent hard hits are at least great to see. Aside from Vladdy, Danny Jansen and Davis Schneider are having great Mays thus far. They’ve unfortunately been balanced out by horrible months thus far for Justin Turner, George Springer, Cavan Biggio, Bo Bichette and Daulton Varsho.
