From new builds to redevelopments, construction season in the Sault has been a busy one as a number of big projects are starting to take shape.
As SooToday’s Darren Taylor reported earlier this year, the federal government provided $32.1 million in funding for the new Legion. Located directly across from the revamped Northern Avenue Plaza, the development will include a Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — a popular franchise that started in Innisfil, Ont. and now has more than a dozen locations across the province.Speaking of plazas, the downtown’s controversial $11.6-million project is nearly finished.
Purchased for $125,000 by Daniel Gagne in February 2023, the property features a new build that resembles a car garage with three giant doors.
