Premier Smith says a regimental funeral to honour two Edmonton officers killed could come next weekend, details still being finalized.

“I just wanted to make sure that people knew about that, because it’s very rare when we lose an officer. It was a really rough week for everybody as we watched this tragedy unfold,” she said.'Devastated': Two Edmonton police officers fatally shot in the line of dutyBrodie Sampson, a longtime friend of Jordan’s, told Postmedia Saturday he’s planning to fly from Halifax to Edmonton when the details of the funeral are finalized.

Sampson said that on the job, Jordan was never afraid to take calls when they came in, and often focused on educating rather than disciplining people. In 2020, Jordan made headlines forPhotos of Travis Jordan, supplied by Brodie Sampson, longtime friend of the fallen Edmonton police constable who was killed in the line of duty on Mar. 16, 2023.

“No words can begin to explain how deep our sorrow and pain is today. He served his community with pride and commitment. He loved his wife and unborn baby, his brothers and us, his parents,” she wrote, thanking those who came to the constable’s aid on Thursday. The family of Const.
