Frederik Andersen is more than a goalie – he’s the Maple Leafs’ rock Globe_Sports

Frederik Andersen, seen here on Nov 5, 2019, is 6-0-2 over his past eight games and Toronto seems to be righting itself after a shaky start to the season. As teammates watched anxiously on Saturday night, Frederik Andersen remained calm in the longest shootout in Toronto history. The Maple Leafs goalie stopped all but one point-blank shot in 11 rounds in a much-needed victory.

He has 61 saves in the past two games, both narrow victories. Toronto trailed in both, before Andersen locked things down. When the Leafs fell behind the Flyers 3-2 on Saturday, Andersen told his teammates, “Enough is enough. We are going to win this one.” “We have so much trust in him,” John Tavares said. “We know that if something happens, he will make a big save.”

Toronto Maple Leafs missing something on special teams - TSN.caNearing the quarter mark of the regular season, the Maple Leafs’ special teams have been more liability than asset, Kristen Shilton writes. kristen_shilton Reading the article I have a question. The PP looks pretty similar to last year's, so my question is: does McFarland have full control, or is it Babs who's designing the PP & just has McFarland be the person to coach it? It doesn't look at all like the Panthers PP from last year. kristen_shilton Every day you guys run 30-40 articles and clips about the (constantly) hapless MapleLeafs but 1, maybe 2 about a Canadian team that’s actually winning with a low payroll, the Canucks Maybe this is why Sportsnet kills you in the ratings?
