Raptors win despite coughing up another double-digit lead

Fred VanVleet scored 28 points and the Toronto Raptors beat the New York Knicks 125-116 on Sunday, finally hanging on to a win after building a large early lead.

The Raptors had coughed up double-digit leads in their previous two games, losing to Minnesota after leading by 18 and then losing 106-104 to Boston on Saturday after being up 11. Barnes’ basket with 46 seconds left gave Toronto a 121-109 lead and sent hundreds of fans to the exits – this time because the victory was secure.

Nurse, who’s also the head coach of Canada’s men’s team, had kind words for national team standout Barrett.

‘Something seems off’: Raptors season reaches a new low pointMore than halfway through their NBA season, the Toronto Raptors are looking and acting like a 20-26 team, taking one step forward and a couple steps back. As Josh Lewenberg writes, this version of the Raptors might just be beyond fixing. If they’re not, they’re running out of time to prove it. JLew1050 Love this team but have to agree. They’re underachieving. It’s not injuries. It’s not the schedule. It’s something else. JLew1050 It’s easy to write articles citing anonymous players. Get some hard facts JLew1050 Naw, it's a rebuilding season (again)

With trade deadline near, upcoming stretch could determine Raptors' directionThe Toronto Raptors are set to begin what is arguably the most challenging stretch of their season, and almost certainly a two- or three-week period when the trajectory of the team and even the franchise could be altered. (michaelgrange) michaelgrange Please how many more times can you say beginning our most challenging stretch, we already had those a couple of times and we failed… just announce the funeral michaelgrange Like I said they could be in 6th or 7th in the east, my gut tells they won’t be..or 9-11 games under by trade deadline and instead of Raptors trying to fleece other teams other teams will probably be trying to fleece them because of there current record.. michaelgrange They already lost both games
