Rays sweep doubleheader with Blue Jays

TORONTO - Francisco Mejia had a two-run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the fifth to lead the Tampa Bay Rays to an 11-5 rout of the Toronto BlueIsaac Paredes and Wander Franco both hit solo home runs as the Rays won the first game 6-2.

“Just like everybody else, I was hoping that it wasn't anything worse than a contusion and that's what had happened and that's good news,” said Montoyo. “And then who was going to cover the game.” Mejia took Hatch to deep right field in the second inning, scoring Paredes with his fourth home run of the season.made some sharp baserunning plays in the bottom of the second to cut into Tampa's lead.

Two batters later, Mejia hit his second home run of the game, fifth of the season. It was only the second two-homer game of his career.infielder to take a step back from the plate as Mejia chased the ball into the backstop. Tapia sprinted home on the passed ball, cutting Tampa's lead to 10-2.
