The world's most visited museum, the Louvre in Paris, has reopened after nearly four months of coronavirus closure.

In front of the Mona Lisa, marks on the floor sought to ensure that people kept their distance while taking selfies with Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece. PARIS, FRANCE -- The world's most visited museum, the Louvre in Paris, reopened Monday after nearly four months of coronavirus closure, with a restricted number of visitors enjoying a rare chance to view the "Mona Lisa" without the usual throngs.

But galleries in which social distancing is more difficult, about a third of the total, will remain off-limits and visitor numbers were capped at 500 per half-hour in a bid to reduce contact between people and lower coronavirus transmission risk.Newsletter sign-up: Get The COVID-19 Brief sent to your inbox

The museum will not get any anywhere near the 9.6 million visitors it hosted last year -- down from a record 10 million in 2018. Nearly three-quarters of its visitors in a normal year are from abroad. For Nicole Lamy, a 21-year-old visiting from Brussels, the limit on ticket sales was "an "opportunity to see the Mona Lisa up close and not in a crowd. It's a bit selfish but I think I'm lucky with my first visit to the Louvre.

Virus, Floyd death merge in brutal blow to Black well-beingDoctors say the COVID-19 pandemic and the death of George Floyd are a brutal blow to Black people's well-being and has renewed calls for racial justice in all realms including health care. I’d be interested to know how many black people died as a direct result of protests increasing infection rates. Media constantly stoking the racial fire is totally making things better. Keep it up guys! Wait I’m not gonna read the article but from the title... are they complaining about black well being and getting sick? But are out protesting.

Virus fear prompts Mexican town to block road from U.S. borderResidents of the town of Sonoyta, across from Lukeville, Arizona, briefly blocked the main road leading south from the U.S. border over fears of coronavirus outbreaks. Is this how Trump builds his wall and makes Mexico pay for it? You can't even drink the water down there and there scared of Wuhan? I've had the runs for a week after visiting there, I'll take a corona please. Good for Mexico, Canada should be and is to extent doing the same. Other countries around the world slowing opening borders to select other countries but not the US. Eventually you have to get over yourselves and wake up. itsnotmeitsyou
