Blake Bortles is headed to Los Angeles.

The former third overall pick from the 2014 NFL Draft was released on Mar. 13 by the Jaguars after they signed Nick Foles to a four-year $88 million deal. Bortles struggled in his final year in Jacksonville going 3-9 while passing for 2,718 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

In five seasons, the Altamonte Springs, Fla., native went 24-49 as a starter passing for 17,646 yards, 103 touchdowns and 75 interceptions while leading the Jaguars to the AFC Championship Game in 2017. He is expected to provide veteran leadership behind Jared Goff who went 13-3 this season leading Los Angeles to the Super Bowl, which they ended up losing 13-3 to the New England Patriots.

Serious question. Does a young QB (Goff) who led his team to a 13-3 record and a super bowl appearance really need “veteran” experience from another QB (Bortles) who only won his team 3 games? Doesn’t make sense
