NEW GLASGOW, N.S. — Originally, Susanna Green’s plan was to start a photography business, but then things changed and she ended up focusing instead on crafting.
And that is exactly what the New Glasgow, N.S., woman has been doing since the fall of 2023. She has created her own crafting business calledGreen said the name for the business came from wanting a name that didn’t limit her to one craft. The name also had to involve something about creativity.This foray into a crafting business is not a stretch for Green. For as long as she can remember, she has always loved to create things and do anything artistic or make anything craft related.
Susanna Green of New Glasgow, N.S., originally began crafting as a hobby but soon turned it into a creative makery business called Creative Corner Crafts. One of the most popular items that Green makes are her gnomes. Contributed Her creativity doesn’t stop there. Over the years, Green enjoyed making birthday and Christmas gifts for friends and family. Journaling has been another favourite hobby of hers as well. It’s no wonder all this creativity has been channeled into a business.For example, for Christmas and Valentine’s Day, Green made large and small gnomes made with Styrofoam cones. She covered the base with solid socks, added a fluffy beard, a wooden nose and sewed hats for them using patterned socks.
Besides her gnomes, another popular item that Green makes are her signs she calls the “look what I made”. These are wooden signs that include clips for kids to hang and display their artwork.
