Fresh off a demolishing at the hands of the Avalanche, some themes are developing for the Leafs, and they aren’t pretty. lukefoxjukebox breaks down five reasons for concern for the club:

lukefoxjukebox Stop the presses the Leafs are losing and the parade has to be postponed. Wake up Leafs fans and Sportsnet they have no defence and goaltending so of course this was going to happen.

lukefoxjukebox Hard to win games when the team lacks grit, passion and heart! They have no interest in playing hockey lately and it shows! Matthews has sucked, Kadri has sucked all year so far and Marleau is showing his age maybe it’s Time to completely change the lines up! Time to shake it up!

lukefoxjukebox Wasn’t very difficult to predict what’s happened. As the season progresses it separates the pretenders from the real contenders. Dubas did basically nothing to ensure this team could play “big boy” hockey, His big smile and “bullish” take on the D was entertaining.

lukefoxjukebox Over rated. When you have ZERO D it eventually starts to become an issue. Press and fans jumping up and down when they landed JT ( Islanders are better without him ) but they needed a D-man more than another flashy centre. I’m curious what will happen at the deadline.

lukefoxjukebox Demolishing? Hyperbole!

Babcock says Maple Leafs haven’t been engaged since Christmas - Sportsnet.ca'We haven't competed at a high enough level.' Leafs coach Mike Babcock isn't happy with his team's energy since Christmas. So, parade off? That’s okay. Leafs won the Stanley Cup in the NHL 19 simulation so it’s all good How long can Jake Gardner’s poor play+lack of compete/soft effort be accepted as a standard? This cannot be what is acceptable any more if the leafs are truly evolving to a high compete/accountable standard of performance as a team. It starts with each player being accountable!
