Four people from Ajax, a fifth from Pickering and a sixth from eastern Ontario are facing charges after a drug trafficking investigation.The investigation, which began in August 2022, was done by the OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team in partnership with Sudbury police. The agencies received help from Durham police.They seized around 2.7 kilograms of cocaine and under 300 grams of fentanyl, along with a loaded nine-millimetre magazine.

The six people arrested have each been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence and possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking .As well, Marlon Gamarra, 28, of Ajax, has been charged with proceeds of crime, possession of a prohibited device and possession of counterfeit money.

Stephen Malabre-Patrick, 31, of Ajax, has been charged with proceeds of crime, possession of a prohibited device and breaching a prohibition order. Donte Brown, 29, of Ajax, has been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and proceeds of crime.
