It doesn’t matter about the tax. If we removed all tax from the price of gas, what’s stopping the gas companies from raising it back up again? We need to limit all these gas companies to sell their product at no more than $1 a litre whether they like it or not.

There should be a max amount of tax paid per fill at a level deemed absolutely necessary for government coffers - no more gravy. This would be on a per tank bases so those with dual tanks pay twice if filling both! This way the cost of gas is decoupled from the cost per litre.
