He was looking for electronic and kitchen items "to set up his home," he said, and began his shopping as soon as stores opened.Ontario province reportedRetail Council of Canada spokeswoman Michelle Wasylyshen said in an interview Sunday that in-person shopping may take a hit this year as the highly infectious Omicron variant of the virus has been driving a surge in COVID-19 cases across much of Canada.

"I think we'll see a shift in that it's not just a one-day event," she said. "It will be a week-long event, and perhaps even longer because of the unexpected nature of when some products have arrived." No. Fewer shoppers look for deals today because the specials were also available last week and the week before. It all starts Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I've been monitoring several items and today's prices are no different than as for the past several weeks.

Absolute nonsense, malls and stores were PACKED today, the MSM is a mess with false reporting confusing the masses.

My little boutique was steady today....not packed by any means. Was nice actually. Couple people every half hour-45 mins.

-40 windchill isn’t helping here 🤦‍♂️

Square one was packed today when I drove by.

i just went out for a little bit today and had to ask people - it’s boxing day right? completely dead everywhere! which..is a good thing i think!

It's been going this way for years with online shopping.

I think the universe is trying to slow down the overconsumption, trying to save us from ourselves.....we're not getting it..whining all the way.

No one has any money left.

Yup I did not go and be stupid instead I went to get my booster!

I do mine on amazonca and WalmartCanada never in store

Or everyone is broke because the companies they work for are going out of business. Might have something to do with it

The true fix is education, COVID has shown us how dangerous misinformation and conspiracy theories can be, and that we have a lot of work to do.

There are no real deals, people no longer have disposable income and finally they get it! Stay home, stop the spread

Ah ha

Or maybe people don't have $$ to spend?

There haven’t been many good Boxing Day deals the last few years anyways Not sure why it matters, almost all Twitter posts are complaining about the economy, loss of jobs, loss of buying power, inflation, end of Canada, etc. I guess those with cash are heads down busy working and not whining 24/7.
