submitted by Calgary Nose Hill MP Michelle Rempel Garner revealed Tuesday the federal government spent more than $6 million at the Westin in Calgary in 2022, with the hotel hosting 15 people who were quarantining. International travel into Canada was restricted to various levels throughout the pandemic, including a period of time in 2021 when most Canadians returning from non-essential travel abroad were required to take a test and await results at a designated quarantine hotel until a negative result was returned.

Glad they were ready to help.

NOW lets be sensible, when the government booked these hotels they have to book an entire floor and would have to commit to a definite time frame, so is this amount really that high? After all Covid was unheard of 3 years ago.

GGCanada explain this?!!

Our MSM are failing society. They could educate us on the clear and present danger that the IDU pose to global democracy but instead they focus on garbage like this. No wonder there were terrorists at the Coutts boarder.

So let's put this into perspective. Between Apr 1, '22 to Oct 30, '22=it's 212 days. How many rooms were reserved? or did they have reserved the whole hotel? Calgary Westin Airport Hotel has 247 rooms. So if they had to reserve the hotel... $6800000/247/212=$129.86 per room. Did the CONs want the folks to live in tents during their quarantine This is beyond ridiculous and disgusting, talk about wasting Cdns $$
