No

And money for provincial health care shouldn’t be held hostage because the PM wants our private medical info for his digital ID program

Fed money . provincial money . same tax payer.

No, the money will be spent on the infrastructure to share healthcare data with Ottawa. The announcement is a sham.

Will investigate this? Will FureyAndrew be transparent about this? We need to start asking these questions.

$124/person/yr health investment starting in 5 years?

Nope. Wouldn’t count on it especially if Trudeau is arrested before then 😂

The only way to answer that is complete transparency on every dime spent. We know they cannot be trusted and the money will be spent on their agendas and not on the actual needs of the people.

Drop in the bucket. This a lame attempt to buy election votes after years of Trudeau wasting billions.

That’s just a promise only if we get digital imprinting

Any money is great for our province but We need total transparency on how they use these funds .

It very well could, and it may not; as Uncle says, you could give them (governments) All the money, and they still couldn't run it. Real Honest Accountability has to happen first, too, and I see no signs of that.

Can have all the money in the world but makes no difference when you have no idea what to do with it.

My understanding is this will not happen for another 5 years.

Not with the way Furey's using it

Giving back the money they stole to their buddies in corrupt medical boards and legal prostitutes is what got us here....How is more of the same better?

Well obviously our taxes are not managed well. Looking to where are we providing healthcare, the problem falls in the colleges who raised many unnecessary barriers to license canadian migrants doctors to practice in Canada. This shouldn’t continue..

Nope.

Every day, there are dozens of nurses & LPNS called in for overtime $$, which means NL taxpayers must pay 3 salaries for 1 single nurse! Overtime pay is a chronic failure by management (& caused by the paid sick days)? The HC system is FAILED DUE TO ABUSE & NO ACCOUNTABILITY

Given that the average Newfoundlander or Labradorian doesn't have any real knowledge of the actual costs of health care, I'm not sure how anyone can actually answer this question. It's just an avenue for people to complain, IMO.

The study 10 years ago by a US firm confirmed Eastern health was the WORST RUN ORGANIZATION they ever evaluated! The NL gov. Has & continues to allow Unions to remove accountability from the HC system. 80% are great, but 20% are lazy & should be fired & End paid sick days!

The only way it could improve Healthcare is if all the money was spent on recruitment

That is less than $1200 per Cdn over 10 years or $120 per Cdn per year. That makes an impact how?

I have no confidence in who is sitting in the positions now. For example Newfoundland Premier was a doctor , NOT anymore, he left healthcare and isn’t renewing his skills or retraining now says he cares about the people and healthcare . Bullshit.

It depends on how smart or stupid our provincial government is when it comes to priorities------frankly, I think you can erase the smart part if the past is anything to go by.

It is, but they’ll only sped probably 50-60 million on healthcare and then send more than double that amount to other places across the world.

Not unless there’s strings attached to prevent the provinces from using it to fund highways or tax cuts.

We can't trust the premiers to spend it ON healthcare. NeverVoteConservative

It's a drop in the bucket. When you have drama teachers, journalists, and some other nobody's running(ruining) a country, this is what you get. There needs to be qualifications to enter politics, the same as other professions. We now see what inexperienced politicians can do!

Ottawa is not giving any money. They will collect this from taxpayers. It's taxpayers money.

Money alone is not the answer. Unless investments are tied to increased spending accountability, more efficient delivery, and reduced abuse of the system...then nothing changes.

Money won’t slow down our aging population and expanding amount of people needing care. We knew this was coming for decades and nobody planned for what is happening. It will be a decade before healthcare improves.

No.

Going to depend on how we spend it. History tells me that the money will not make any difference. Furey government likes spending way too much.

Money… the cause of most and solution to few of humanity’s problems.

Not unless more doctors are coming with it

Funding isn’t the issue that will solve healthcare issues.

You can toss 100B st the problem, and it'll still cracked. The issue is keeping people in Newfoundland, so let's raise taxes again to pay the loan that the public will once again suffer. Mean while the prov gov will save face, by thanking the feds. 5 years after, it's worse.
