Literally every business took CERB. Every accountant advised them to. It was a tax free (partial) handout from the government. Here’s 60k, pay back 40k and 20k forgivable.

They could have closed in 20/21 season and would have still survived - Collingwood private ski clubs are one of the largest collection of such fir the elite in the world. Disgusting they would advantage if this when so many other businesses were in need.

The calculation to qualify for CEWS compared business revenues to prior year OR the few months before covid, and the firm could choose which comparison gives them the biggest impact (revenue decline) from covid. Seasonal type businesses were big beneficiaries of the process.

Corporate Welfare must stop. Over 1/2 billion dollars was stolen by Ontario businesses not entitled to receive a dime. fordnation forgave the theft immediately because they had “suffered enough”. People/workers who create wealth suffer businesses do not.

All businesses including got the wage subsidies. The subsidies kept people employed instead of on CERB. The government money was being spent one way or the other.
Maybe this should be the news? Questioning our elected officials on there morals and ethics?
Why would these documents need to be 'leaked' in the first place? In the USA anyone can look up online which companies received federal Covid relief, and how much they got.
