The Montfort Hospital’s emergency department will be closed overnight on Saturday and Sunday, as COVID-19-related absences, vacations, staff fatigue and burnout, as well as a nursing shortage, have forced the hospital to make the “difficult” decision.
The last patients will be admitted at around 7 p.m. The emergency department, however, will still be open to ambulances.
