Edmonton council approves $100M for bike infrastructure across city

“I don’t know why we’re spending hours and hours talking about something that’s so fundamental,” Sohi added.‘Don’t trash it till you try it’: Cycling through Edmonton’s cold snap

“I have a very good idea of what people in my ward want,” she said of the north-central ward’s residents. This council has completely lost focus on needs vs wants . The whole lot of council needs to be sacked . 100M for bike lanes Imagine what impact that money would have to the people on the streets and those who struggle to eat each day . Complete failure labels this council!

Is this a joke!?!?

So bikers are more important then the homeless

🤡🤡🤡🤡

While you're at it, make more stainless steel ball structures 🙄

Bike lanes are great when temps are -30C. Edmonton is cold and snowy in winter!

How about fixing the roads and sewers first so they don’t flood every rain fall? Or maybe finishing the LRT?

Well, there is at least 3 weeks of biking weather in Edmonton. Great use of One Hundred Million.

Edmonton is raising property taxes to build bike lanes. Can't even build the LRT on budget or on time.

I love that they are improving recreation options thru the city.... But on the other hand are we spending borrowed money?

My God. Why?

Heated for the winter months i hope

Run every bike geek over...think of the money saved

Imagine how many plows and lawnmowers that would buy

In a cold climate where bike are used 6 months in a year with Drug drivers everywhere. You better budget 200 Million. 100 Million for concrete barriers to pertect them from incompetent drivers.

I'm sure the money could have gone to something more pressing . Unbelievable

Only 100mil?

Would love to see video of that in February

Snowmobile lanes in the winter time, right?

I'd rather see money going towards traffic enforcement when it comes to Cyclists. They love to hog roadways want to share the road hntil they reach an intersection and want to be a pedestrian...

This will provide the B&E bike gangs quicker runs to the dealer to sell your stuff for a few bucks. Victoria has intrusive bike lanes that no one uses. I have driven through and only seen the thieves scoping out new territory

Meanwhile, roads are icy and rutted and snow removal is intermittent. Bridge repairs are on hold. Social services and charities for the vulnerable are struggling. But let those minority 2 wheelers roll. The absurdity beggars description.

Oh you poor bastards. It’s a complete fucking nightmare in the Chity of Toronto!

for this dude alone? Wow, nice!

Didn't the Edmonton Policeq request an extra 99 million That would be money better spent

How many will use it in the winter ?
