The Philippine president has said he has no problem with being held responsible for the many killings under his anti-drugs crackdown, adding that he was ready to face charges that could land him in jail, though not charges of crimes against humanity.

President Rodrigo Duterte's televised remarks Monday night were among his clearest acknowledgement of the prospects that he could face a deluge of criminal charges for the bloody campaign he launched after taking office in mid-2016. Nearly 6,000 killings of drug suspects have been reported by police but rights watchdogs suspect the death toll is far larger.

At least two complaints for crimes against humanity and mass murder in connection with Duterte's campaign are being examined by an International Criminal Court prosecutor, who will determine whether there is enough evidence to open a full-scale investigation. "When you save your country from the perdition of the people like the NPAs and drugs, you are doing a sacred duty," he said, referring to communist New People's Army insurgents.

At least he is more honest than Donald Trump & Joe Biden.

OMg this guy is too much

...but it says somewhere, killing begets killing.

150 young Canadians die every month in BC from those toxic drugs. The blood money collected is then laundered through BC real estate and other businesses. A few dead drug dealers at this time in BC wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

Drugs kick so much ass

Trump should be held responsible for COVID-19 killings!

You bet he can. Not the way to take care of this issue.

Duterte says he can be held responsible for drug killings in PhilippinesCountry’s president says ‘if you get killed it’s because I’m enraged by drugs’ What he said is inconsequential. PH is not an ICC member. He also said that he only answers to the Filipinos...he has 91% approval rating. He is a former prosecutor. Everything he says is calculated. Fifty yrs ago we would have still had the people to do so. In fact, western militaries wouldn't have just stared gormlessly after The Princess Of The Stars attack, thereby preventing the Sewol one in resp to the handmade Keep Calm & Turn Left sign at the Soshi speedskating oval. Very safe to say as drug abuse is a large problem in the Philippines where much money is made on the I'll of others.

Is Pandemic Unity Between Ottawa And The Provinces Starting To Slip? (Analysis)Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has suggested that if things are not running smoothly in the provinces, his government is not responsible. -^.. B'H interesting, when you stand up for your children and their future. PMJT is correct. The prov premiers need to get their act together & step up to the challenge. The federal gov't has provided them with the money to do a good job. Unfortunately there are those (Doug Fraud) who didn't spend the money to be prepared for the fall season! Of course provinces are pointing fingers at the feds. The feds aren’t caving into the provinces demand for more money. The transfers go to their general coffers and not where it’s earmarked to go.
