On Tuesday, council will consider a staff recommendation to send $798,000 to the budget adjustment list for the 2023-2024 budget, conditional on the fact that the province jumps in and HRM not contribute more than $744,000 a year after that.Another piece of feedback from the lived experience group was to create a tiny home community.
“Projects in Canada, such as 12 Neighbours in Fredericton or the Astum Api Niikinaahk project in Winnipeg, ones throughout the United States and other countries have shown these communities address a need and provide a stable dignified housing option for a portion of the population that is not currently well serviced in Halifax.”in partnership with the Lennox Island First Nation in P.E.I. to build three tiny homes for chronically homeless Indigenous people in Halifax.
