A driver was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after their vehicle plunged hundreds of feet down an embankment along the Malahat Highway on Sunday, RCMP say.
Shawnigan Lake RCMP responded to the single-vehicle crash near Split Rock Lookout at around 7:35 p.m., Cpl. Alex Bérubé, a spokesperson for BC RCMP, told CHEK News. “The vehicle left the roadway and went 200 – 300 feet down an embankment,” according to Bérubé in a statement. “The driver and lone occupant was taken to hospital with injuries that have been described as non-life threatening.”Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.A police investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, although Bérubé says nothing suggests the driver was impaired.
