Will Derek Jeter become the second unanimous pick for baseball’s Hall of Fame Tuesday?

NEW YORK — When it comes to unanimous picks for baseball’s Hall of Fame, Derek Jeter quite appropriately has the chance to be No. 2.

Bill Madden, the longtime New York Daily News baseball writer, said attitudes had changed and Rivera’s performance could lead to more 100% results from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, whose 2020 votes are announced Tuesday. Jeter was picked by all 210 voters tabulated through late Monday evening by Ryan Thibodaux’s Hall of Fame vote tracker, about half the expected ballots. A 14-time All-Star shortstop who hit .310, Jeter led New York to five World Series titles and captained the Yankees for his final 11 1/2 seasons. New York retired No. 2 in his honour, but Jeter has struggled for success in his post-playing days as CEO of the of the Miami Marlins.

What could possibly be the argument to not put him in the HOF? The guy was a superstar on the biggest stage for 2 decades.

Yes, for sure.

Isn't this guys only good stat of hits?

Never heard of him...but I can't stand basketball...

Good chance. Hoping for Larry Walker.

Will we be adding the nickname mrunanimous to the long list of nicknames he already has? Yes we will and I want to be credited for giving my favorite player that name.

If Griffey wasn’t he shouldn’t be either!

Is the vote based on banging models and celebrities then yes......as a ball player he is hall worthy but 100% that should have been reserved for the best ie. Griffey the process is flawed

Some writer who votes will realize his range at SS was limited and therefore not make the vote unanimous.

Is there any doubt.

Nope.. of he played in any other city than NY.. look at the stats

Larry Walker has outperformed Jeter in every aspect of the game and might get overlooked for a tenth year in a row. Wake up Cooperstown!

No brainer and he is so classy

Will he be? Yes... Should he be? Not a chance. He was an average to slightly above average offensive player and a terrible defensive SS. He was boosted by being a Yankee and having a long career. Had he been on any other team he’d probably be only barely considered for the HoF

No.

Its larry walker time. If he dont get to the hof why do we have it. Just look at the numbers

No

I have nothing against Rivera either but a closer unanimous and Ken Griffey Jr wasn’t It’s fucking insane

Most overrated player of all time. Imagine being a unanimous selection when you have no MVPs, no batting titles, never even a top 5 player at any time in his career. Very rarely even the best player on his own team

Players with better numbers didnt so why should he.

Jeter was a god.

He definitely shouldn't be
