Americans will celebrate July 4 with minimal COVID restrictions. On July 1, Canadians will have little freedom to associate outside their homes and even less to celebrate.

The difference in how each country has responded to the pandemic could not be starker, which is no doubt why the U.S. border remains closed, doing irreparable harm to companies relying on tourism.
