Defence seeks reduced sentence for mosque shooter Bissonnette, says he wasn't driven by deep racism

Bissonnette was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 40 years after pleading guilty to killing six men and wounding several others on Jan. 29, 2017 after opening fire at evening prayers. Gosselin argued that, contrary to the ruling that highlighted Bissonnette's "hatred" and "racism," the crimes were not motivated by prejudice against Muslims -- saying there was no evidence of that presented.

Sure, murder people and feel you should get a reduced sentence. Why not Friggin joke !!! You take a life, you should never be free to walk outside those prison gates. Canadian justice systems is a darn joke !!! Time to change !!

What i can’t figure out is how other murders,one in Calgary that killed 6 kids and one that chopped a kids head off on a greyhound claim mental issues and walk free after 3 yrs,this guy claims the same thing and gets 40 yrs, they should all be in jail forever or lethal injection

Flimsy explanations given by defence counsel.

So, it wasn't deep racism. It was just strategic racism? He killed them because they were Muslim... but not because he hates Muslims... but rather because Muslims were appropriate targets... So...... it's not THAT bad. 'Sounds great, let's bring that to the judge'.

Hopefully he gets killed before any of this can go any further

Knowing Quebec court system I can see this guy walking free in a year or two

Bissonnette should die in jail. What he did was cold hearted and calculated. But his parents keep pushing this false narrative and are refusing to accept they raised a monster. They don’t care about the victims and probably share his views on muslims.

It doesn’t matter what motivated him. The result is the same. Throw away the key. He is obviously very disturbed,
