One death confirmed at the Ontario facility for vulnerable adults suffering a COVID-19 outbreak

The death was confirmed by Markham Stouffville Hospital in a statement, sent on behalf of the family.

“He passed peacefully listening to music he loved. He was a wonderful son, uncle and the best brother anyone could ever ask for,” the family said. “Thanks to all staff at the Participation House for their exceptional care and to the staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital for making things comfortable for him on his last days.”at Participation House tested positive for COVID-19. Twelve staff members who worked at the facility have also been diagnosed with the virus.

COVID-19: All 2,600 seniors' residences in Quebec will be inspected, Premier Legault saysOn April 13th he says that. This is war and the enemy is the virus. Good! Hope the rest of Canada follows suit. Gross negligence in most of these homes for years and just getting ignored. Advocates been telling us and no one listening. Took a pandemic for the wake up call.
