Dawson Creek is 700 kilometres north of Vancouver on the border of Alberta. It’s Mile Zero on the Alaska Highway to, well, Alaska. When Japan bombed Hawai’i—the unceded territory of the Indigenous Hawai’ians and a major military lynchpin of the United States—the lack of road access to Alaska from the rest of the United States became a major issue for them.
And what do you know, for weeks and months after the reported disappearance of the these four, potential witnesses were not even contacted. There are complaints about the lack of information from the RCMP, so much so that one questions if this is a priority. Just what exactly is the RCMP doing, anyhow? Oh, right, it’s British Columbia. They are busy patrolling a pipeline instead of protecting citizens. That’s the guess.
