NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly says the league has no plans to postpone either of Wednesday night’s playoff games in wake of the NBA’s decision to delay three post-season matchups.

‘s Chris Johnston. “Obviously, our players are free to express themselves in any manner they feel is appropriate.”

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly says there are currently no plans to postpone tonight's games. "I don’t expect the League to initiate a game stoppage. Obviously, our Players are free to express themselves in any manner they feel is appropriate."NHL will, however, hold a moment of reflection before tonight’s post-season games, Johnston reports.

In the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting, the NHL will hold a moment of reflection before tonight's Tampa/Boston game in Toronto and tonight's Colorado/Dallas game in Edmonton. The statement from Daly comes after the Milwaukee Bucks decided to boycott Game 5 of their series against the Orlando Magic in protest after the shooting of Jacob Blake by police in Kenosha, Wis.

Blake, a 29-year-old unarmed Black man, was shot by police seven times in Kenosha, Wis., on Sunday. The shooting has sparked demonstrations in Kenosha protesting police brutality and systemic racism.

NBA continues to support the rioting..looting on the streets of the US...by ANTIFA and BLM rather than condemning it

Racists will for sure realize there reprehensible behavior is wrong once they can't watch a hockey game

NHL has already lost the respect of fans! Don’t pull any other stupidity! PR_NHL

Good

GOOD!!!!

Not surprised! Where is that weak ass commissioner? Trying to get a team in fucking Oklahoma for a fucking buck. GaryBettman has got to go. RemoveGaryBettman

MikeChambers As the shouldn’t. Why would u support a rapist of a 15yr old girl.

Soooo where were all the snowflakes when Cannon Hinnent was shot?

It wasn’t the NBA that cancelled games , it was the players. The NHL and their players with their head in the sand.

good. Keep politics out of sports

CordUpTime Lol

Bettman was Talking today with Gary Lawless. What to Busy. What a 🤡

Good decision by the league

Standing quietly and reflecting is the same as THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. Exactly the same! 🧠🙏

kuklaskorner Thank you. Keep playing. Matthew 22: 36-40... Much better than boycotts, looting, shooting each other and children. Fall in line w the above Scripture, the other stuff will be eliminated. Amen Brother.

NHL has very few MINORITY players.

MikeChambers Good. NHL taking the lead here by not falling for this crap.

This is a tragic event but life needs to go on. Are we going to shut down every thing? Because tragedy occurs everywhere, everyday that needs protest and attention.

Good.

What's happening in America has nothing to do with sports. Ya figure ppl would go home and watch instead of throwing rocks. Starting fires?like for the hell home and watch sports or a movie or go to work...

Disappointing

Thank god someone has a brain and doesn't just kneel to the bullshit

That's the right answer. Don't support the BLM Marxist Organization! And, Don't Support Violent Recidivists who Resist Arrest! NHL NHLPlayoffs

I don’t recall there being an NBA boycott when CannonHinnant was murdered by a black man in front of his little sisters. Apparently, racial outrage is a one way street.

helenenothelen Virtue signal at your own expense. I will stop watching the NHL if they jump on this virtue signaling bandwagon.

🤦‍♂️

They probably should consider it at some point. Show some level of solidarity. Preferably soon.

Go and vote for change instead of cancelling sports. Cancelling does nothing.

Ok so what does ' We skate for black lives ' and ' We skate for every lives ' means

Good

Thank God for the NHL

Nothing can stop us from boycotting watching.

helenenothelen NHL doesn’t care about Black people. Even the MLB has canceled games. Wtf

Why would they?

Smart move!

Is it really his position to make that statement? What if the players decide to boycott the games? Is he going to say that they have to go on the ice?

Yep, shut down the NHL Playoffs and send everyone home. That will cure racism in North America.

BOXINGNBA

Don’t bend the knee...

As they shouldn't

Joke of a league
