Krys registered 17 points in 35 regular-season games for Providence College.

Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill announced Tuesday that the club has signed defenseman Luke Krys to a two-year, entry-level contract that will begin in the 2024-25 season. According toKrys spent the 2023-24 campaign in the NCAA with Providence College where he tallied six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 35 games. Among Friars’ defensemen, Krys ranked first in goals, second in assists and second in points.

For the last three seasons, the 24-year-old was with Brown University before transferring to Providence for this season. While with Brown, he captained the 2022-23 team and registered two goals and 16 points in 30 games. He was named to the All-Ivy League Second All-Star Team for a second consecutive year. During the 2020-21 shortened Covid season and the NCAA limiting games, Krys opted to play for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the United States Hockey League where he appeared in five games.

Krys is the second most recent signing by the Stars after they opted to sign Flint Firebirds defenseman and 2023 draft pick Tristan Bertucci last week. Krys is expected to join the Stars’ American Hockey League affiliate the Texas Stars. Texas currently ranks fourth in the Central Division with a 28-26-3-2 record and 61 points through 59 games, with 13 games remaining, Krys should get some ice time to round out the regular season.
