This aerial image shows the site of a permafrost slump that caused a landslide into the Yukon River near Whitehorse.
"It seemed like a very daunting task at the beginning of our process, but now we know [reducing emissions] is possible," said co-chair Kirsten Hogan, adding that individual action, while important, isn't enough to make needed gains. According to the report, there's a gap of 160 kilotonnes between this new target and projected emissions. However, if all the recommendations are followed, the territory can outstrip that figure, reducing emissions by 184 kilotonnes.
So sick of those big polluters in the Yukon. No matter the cost to the Canadian taxpayer, we need to stop the Yukon from destroying the planet.
Given its actual emission level is that not just a tad too high a price to pay?
Craziness. If they really were concerned about climate change They Would invade China. The real problem of pollution comes from there
Versus if the “do nothing,” approach is taken. 40 years ago, science warned us, it’s only going to get worse
Pointless, it will change nothing.
Utter insanity. There is so little CO2 coming from the Yukon, so much absorbed by Canada's trees, so little from Canada as a whole, so little from humans compared to nature, and such a miniscule change in temperature if the current CO2 levels in the atmosphere doubled. Idiocy.
And evergreens won't have enough co2 to turn into oxygen. I suppose running out of oxygen will be the next catastrophe.
Ignore the report and no war. Easy choice.
Hey carbon is essential to life, yeah lets reduce it LiberalLogic
Of course Climate change.
Ya wartime ..citizens will be at war with the government and the media ..I can see that coming
China, India, USA, Yukon Territory. All polluting peas in a pod. Luckily they can just turn off their heat… in the Yukon… and save the planet.
Says the Climate change death cult.
They're going to blow things up?
Maybe Yukon should charge pollution tax to any province, state or country where their pollutants rise to the Yukon atmosphere. If Québec can apply law that works outside of Québec, Yukon can do the same.
When I think of the serious emissions problems in the world, the first place that comes to mind is the Canadian Yukon.
Let's do it.
Lol no one lives there just nuts
Then get started
Reducing carbon emissions will not prevent the current geomagnetic excursion or Earths weakening magnetic field. This is a cyclical event that happens every 6000/1200 years. The narrative that Humans can destroy a planet that is 4.3 Billion years old by releasing carbon is foolish.
I’m sure they have non-imaginary problems to deal with. Why would they care if it’s a little less cold in 100 years.
oh please
Christ. Yeah. The 14 people up there are totally recking the environment.
Yukon ? No carbon emissions there. Maybe methane from MOOSE FARTS.
There was an idiotic phrase in the Vietnam War . “ We had to destroy the village in order to save it.”
Have fun with your solar panels in the arctic, plebs.
😂 7 YEARS! 😂 Fantasy Island was more plausible..
Only the CBC. DefundCBC
Nobody even up there. Plus it's tundra, it needs some warming
Defunding the CBC by 100% will save the Canadian tax payer 1 billion per year.
Enough with fake climate change narrative.
Well it's already starting to cause war like destruction in Canada so the longer we wait the more expensive it gets.

Less than one per cent of U of T students requested vax mandate exemptionLess than one per cent of the 8,400 University of Toronto students living on campus have requested an exemption to its triple-COVID-19-shot mandate, the school said Wednesday. Wow it's almost as if making people jump through hoops is a good way to get them to comply with something. “The three schools are virtually the only places in Canada that remain subject to a vaccine mandate.” Then spin the story that U of T students are decision making savy and that’s why they took boosters. 🙃 Pathetic these schools should be ashamed you are putting these young students at risk of so many health problems or possibly worse
