Yup … they’re on the pro floor now — a far cry from those childhood shenanigans — united on a National Lacrosse League team for the first time after Josh was acquired three weeks back in a deal with the Saskatchewan Rush.Josh drew the attention of the Rough House faithful in quick fashion, scoring just 30 seconds into his Roughnecks debut.

“He’s not wrong,” said the younger brother. “If I see Josh doing something, I’m definitely going to try and do the same thing. I’m not letting him have all the glory. His goal was pretty fast, though. I don’t know if you could write up a better start to his Calgary career. First time he touched the ball, he went to the net and scored. Pretty cool to be able to say that.

“I’ve got him beat on the defensive end and on loose balls,” said 28-year-old Zach, continuing with the brother versus brother stuff. “But Josh is far and away the better shooter/goal scorer.”They’re hoping he’ll rediscover the scoring touch that made him a 34-goal scorer for the Philadelphia Wings in 2019, two years after being drafted sixth overall by the Rochester Knighthawks and being named to the 2017 NLL all-rookie squad.

“The first thing for him having more fun is getting into the lineup and being able to show his stuff — that was really the first opportunity he had this season,” Zach said. “He put in a ton of work in the off-season — we were texting each other all the time — and then came into camp and didn’t really get as much of an opportunity as he’d hoped for. It was tough on him mentally.Article content
