Emma Kvetna will be teaching a course held at the NSCC in Stellarton on submitting to literary magazines.The Nova Scotia Community College - Pictou Campus is about to embark on a new relationship with Creative Pictou County.
“People are looking for different ways to have a richer quality of life and we know the arts are often one of the ways in which people do that,” Mann said. Asa Nodelman is a special committee member with Creative Pictou County and said they are happy to be involved with this initiative.He believes the social aspect of creating art with others is an important component and anticipates strong interest from the community.
The four, two-hour-long classes will walk writers through the process outlining what literary magazines are looking for and how to submit as well as how to deal with rejection. Another course, taught by Sean Benton will be on colour theory. This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of colour through various workshop exercises. Students will experiment with a range of acrylic paints and brushes. Students will learn how to mix colours, observe objects, and recreate what they see through paint.
