On Oct. 26, an employee at a McDonald\u0027s located at 3695 Lougheed Hwy. in Vancouver reported a positive COVID\u002D19 test result.

“Out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization by a certified third party,” the company said in a statement issued Tuesday.

“We are working to ensure we reopen safely, as we know our guests depend on their local McDonald’s, and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities.” All staff who interacted with the infected employee have been asked to self-quarantine for the time being. The employee’s most recent shift was overnight on Oct. 21 to 22, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Good thing it’s a private company so we got to hear about it. But are you telling me that staff at BC Liquor Stores, ICBC, BC Ferries Government Assistance Offices, Transit workers and other government agencies haven’t had cases? Or are they just not reported on the news?
