Spain’s military were to hand out 10 million face masks to those travelling to work on Monday, the first day after the Easter holiday

Millions of Spaniards will return to their workplaces today after the government lifted an industrial lockdown, despite a weekend surge in deaths.

Spain, where coronavirus has now claimed 16,972 lives, imposed a lockdown confining people to their homes for all but essential shopping and travel to work on March 15. Antoni Trilla, an epidemiologist from Barcelona’s Hospital Clinic, has warned that the return of millions to their jobs “will lead to an uptick of cases,” adding that the COVID-19 scientific committee, assembled by Spain’s Health Ministry and of which he is a member, was not consulted.

But Sanchez’s Left-wing government is split over the move to allow factories, building sites, call centres and other businesses to reopen. The Daily Telegraph understands that government ministers from the hard-Left Podemos party, the junior partner in Sanchez’s ruling coalition, are against lifting the economic lockdown.

As the test scales become bigger, we'll be seeing rising numbers day after day. Health Canada's slow and soft response to the virus in Feb and early March results in hundreds of peoples' death and the collapse of medical system. cristina_CP24 Funny how is this nothing is mentioned about tests that cake back negative. Or how many people have recovered and are clear of the virus or who has been released from the hospital if they have been in and could go home. Instead it’s about new cases and deaths......
