The main concern? Inflation. The Angus Reid Institute poll found that a majority cited the rising cost of living as their greatest concern, with a disturbing 45 per cent of Canadians reporting they find it either difficult or very difficult to feed their family.

Overall, the poll found two-thirds of Canadians think benefits should not be extended past next June.

As for British Columbians, 39 want the benefits ended now, compared with 17 per cent who say wait until the end of the year, and 44 per cent who would like to see them kept in place for longer.Article content When asked about their expenditures on groceries, 80 per cent of respondents said their earnings have not kept pace with the rising cost of living, including 42 per cent who say that their salary gains don’t even come close.
