COVID\u002D19: BCIT grads organize virtual battle of the bands

Bands entering the competition are required to submit a live video of any performance in the last year.The judges includes global representation including The Voice Israel semifinalist Afek Lamour , Inter Idoru artist manager Apryl Peredo , Singer-songwriter Maalavika Manoj , The King’s Parade lead vocalist Olly Corpe , singer and Igloo Music studio manager Ronni Mardor , Treetop Agency booker Simeon Pranger , and bassist, producer and music photographer Stivy Malty Soares .

Each one of the group is donating their time to offer mentoring, advice and exposure to the artists who enter. “The entire music industry in Vancouver wins if we can get it on the map as a global music destination,” said Varona. On July 6, artists who made the first round will be announced. The Top 10 finalists are being announced by livestream on July 31, and the award show to announced the winners will be livestreamed on Aug. 7.
