“If someone has received one or more doses of COVID-19 vaccine outside of B.C., they can have it recorded in the provincial immunization registry so there is a record of their vaccination status,” the ministry wrote. “Ahead of reporting a vaccination, people should gather as much information about their immunization as possible.”Once someone’s record is updated, they will receive an invitation to book their second dose when they are eligible.
Last week, SFU professor Valorie Crooks — who studies snowbirds — called for government outreach and guidance for returning snowbirds around vaccination, given many have received one or two doses in the U.S. There are an estimated 375,000 people in Canada who live half the year in Canada and the rest in the U.S. or Mexico.Snowbird Dixie Woodcock told Postmedia News that she had been fully vaccinated in California and returned to Canada on May 14.
She said that last week she called the vaccine line twice and when she got through she was told that her vaccination information could not be recorded and she was transferred to Service B.C. From there she was told to contact Vancouver Coastal Health where an agent told her to send her vaccination information to 520reception@vch.ca.Share this Story:
