THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay Transportation Museum is welcoming the public to a free public event on Saturday, celebrating the Canadian Coast Guard and the city’s maritime history.

The event, which begins at 11 a.m. at the Museum, located at the Pool 6 site on the waterfront, will include a recognition of the contribution and role of the Canadian Coast Guard in maintaining and policing the waterways of the Northwest for the past 61 years. It will also include a joint celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Reserves and a visit by the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Samuel Risley
