CityNewsalways been out of control in Canada. In the UK tipping doesn't happen as the staff are paid better wages. Germany tipping is very small & only given for great service. in Canada it's laughable when a waitress gets pissed off when she gets a small tip or none for bad service. The tip should be relative to the service. Drive through tips should be 1 or 2 % at best. In chain pet food store Cashier: 'Will you be leaving a gratuity, ma'm?' Me: 'I'm sorry but no, the store owner pays you to put stock on the shelves & ring up what I buy. I pay you so I can take dog food off the shelves put it on the counter here & take it home with me.'
