'Through modular housing we can quickly create permanent housing options that will impact the lives of many people in our city,' Mayor John Tory said.

The project, which was announced at the end of April, aims to build a total of 250 modular units by the spring of 2021.

“The City will select qualified, non-profit housing providers to manage each site. The modular homes will be pre-fabricated and installed on-site,” officials said.Officials said there will also be a community engagement process online.
