Canadian governments have been unusually forthcoming with basic data during the pandemic. We need to make sure that continues

What Henry said was true: From 2015–2019, Statistics Canada reports an average of 25 annual deaths from influenza and pneumonia among people under 20 years old. COVID-19 has killed 17 Canadians in that age group over 19 months. With Canadian provinces relatively open for business, but children under 12 not yet vaccinated, this is precisely the sort of information and context parents need to help decide for themselves how to proceed.

Calgary ER doc Dr. Joe Vipond, one of the Alberta government’s most relentless critics, actually said this on Tuesday: “There are no comorbidities that matter in this instance.” That’s just mental — especially if the victim in question was in palliative care or otherwise mortally ill, but in every other case as well. What sort of medical practitioner demands less information about a pandemic? What kind of citizen?

Indeed, one of the few positive aspects of Canada’s pandemic experience has been watching our governments come around to sharing basic, timely information with the public. It has often come in fits and starts and after unaccountable delays, and has in many cases required begging and pleading and pulling teeth. “Privacy” has been used to excuse all manner of absurd information gaps, especially with respect to outbreak reporting.

But thanks in large part to media pressure, we know far more about the pandemic than I ever thought we would have: facts as basic and crucial as how many new cases, hospitalizations and fatalities were previously vaccinated, for example. We need that instinct to survive the pandemic. No one should ever attack a Canadian government official for providing more information than necessary. Everyone should demand more information, always.

Would be nice to get some “truthful information” in the mix!

This is a conspiracy and will eventually be known to the public !take down the ccp

We are in the COVID-19 pandemic, exactly an unrestricted biological warfare waged by the evil CCP! If we want to go back to normal, Just wake up, ask the antidote from the CCP, and eradicate the evil CCP from the earth completely!

You can never have to much info

Too bad all the information jkenney had he made the wrong decisions over and over again and again Deena Hinshaw just as responsible

Do people actually still believe anything the media or health professionals have to say. Seriously!! She’s been caught in numerous lies. What!!! People aren’t this stunned are they still?!

Too much coverage and too much information are two different things media covid division

However I feel that not all the important information has been used to make proper decisions.

Only “Too much lies and fear mongering”

Ya just gotta play it by fear day to day.. it's that easy

The Government has been so forth coming it still spins a web of lies, betrays truth, common sense , science and facts with its agenda driven narrative.
