When public schools are failing students, Ontario owes both parents and teachers reasonable choices in education, not the status quo.

Neither is very compelling. Furthermore, the proposed gambit didn’t make much sense. If Ford and Lecce wanted to soften parents up for radical innovation in public education, using the so-called constitutional “nuclear option” to uphold the status quo didn’t seem like a wise play.

have not led to civilizational collapse. But the idea that things that work elsewhere might work in Ontario is almost completely anathema to the province’s politics. Only catastrophe lies that way.Article content There are no doors on stalls and no toilet paper to be found, according to reports, but students are probably better off using the A&W down the street anyway. “There was one dedicated to sex acts,” an unnamed staff member told CTV News recently, another for using drugs and another for what the staff member described as a “fight club.”Article content

The TDSB pledges a series of alarmingly basic measures like installing a new school administration that actually shows up to work and buying toilet paper. It also pledges to explore online learning options for York Memorial students too terrified to attend in person — so at least they’re not overconfident.

It's also easy to oppose when you are a low income earner who wont be able to afford private schooling, making your kids less competitive for post-secondary education (and even jobs), further depressing your community, which in canada, wont be white.

The error in thinking here is that you just show up with $ and private schools admit your kids. You have to apply. They can refuse.

I like school choice because I love commuting. Instead of paying an extra $2 in taxes to improve my neighbourhood school, I'd rather drive my kids through traffic for an hour every day so we can make education feel more like a transaction 🤗

Thanks for writing this!!! All parents deserve school choice, not just the wealthy. Totally recommend reading Thomas Sowell's 'Charter Schools and Their Enemies'! Do the right thing fordnation!!

School boards look to reduce large gatherings amid high rates of illnessThe new measures come almost two weeks after Premier Smith announced new regulations to ensure what she called \u0022normal\u0022 school environments. Yeah, it's crazy to think how after 3 years, with masks, and staying away from one another, everyone is sick. I mean, it's not like we didn't try and explain this would happen. The UK has figured it out. But Canada will never agree that was most of the problem
