Chinese leader Xi Jinping arrives in Astana ahead of the SCO summit

Xi arrived in Kazakhstan on Tuesday to attend a summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization on July 3-4. The SCO was established in 2001 by China and Russia to discuss security concerns in Central Asia and the wider region with a particular focus on cross-border terrorism. Besides China and Russia, other members are Iran, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
