Documents obtained by Postmedia through a FOIP request to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs confirm the three councillors sent two joint complaints to the ministry in February requesting the province step in — though the councillors’ complaints weren’t included in the disclosure, only mentioned.

The mayor responded to Narayan’s post stating, “As the Mayor of Chestermere, I am advising you that you should not be discussing this issue in a public form .Article content “Albertans deserve to have faith in their local governments. It is within a municipality’s authority to determine how best to investigate any operational decisions and demonstrate to its constituents that local decision-making and service delivery reflect the interests and needs of the community,” said Scott Johnston.
